I love the Fife Coast, particularly St Andrews, but I wasn’t as familiar with Kingsbarns. Just 10 minutes from St Andrews, it’s a beautiful part of the world and it was an absolute pleasure to photograph Nicola & Brian’s Kingsbarns wedding at Kingsbarns Distillery.
Kingsbarns Distillery Wedding
Nicola and her bridesmaids got ready at White Cottage which is a short drive away from the Distillery. Bridal prep had a really relaxed vibe (which suits me down to the ground!) and it was great to take photos of Nicola doing her own makeup! She was also putting the finishing touches to the flowers – I love a DIY wedding!
I also love weddings that are in slightly unusual venues. Kingsbarns Distillery lends itself well to hosting weddings and the staff were absolutely wonderful. It’s set in the Fife countryside and the interior is lovely and rustic – perfect for a Scottish wedding!
After the beautiful and intimate ceremony, we took Nicola and Brian down to Kingsbarns Golf Course for some wedding photos. The highlight for me was driving through the course on a golf buggy! You’ll see from the photos that it was incredibly foggy. The mist was lying so low and although it meant we couldn’t see the views, it made for some very Scottish looking wedding photos!
Nicola and Brian were great to work with. They were so laid-back and up for a good laugh, and I think that comes across in their wedding photos. One of the highlights of the day was watching the Bridal Party drinking shots balanced on a ski. . .haven’t seen that before! Also, the Night Shot that we took amongst the evening fog was one of my favourites. Scroll to the bottom to see it!
