A stunning Crossbasket Castle wedding where we took both the wedding photos and the videography.
A Crossbasket Castle wedding is always a special event – the venue is absolutely stunning. Taking wedding photos at Crossbasket Castle is always a joy as whether it’s bright sunshine or pouring with rain, there are so many options.
At Hollie & Kieron’s wedding, it was a day of bright sunshine! It was actually almost too hot, and I found myself trying to borrow some sunscreen from the bridesmaids!
Hollie and her bridesmaids were getting ready in Crossbasket Castle before heading off to the cathedral in Motherwell. Bridal prep photos are made so much easier at Crossbasket as the room as such a great size and there’s plenty of space for even large groups of bridesmaids. In addition, there’s lots of natural light coming in – I love it! Even though there were two of us with cameras there (Andi on video and Daniel on photos) it never feels cramped in Crossbasket.
After the ceremony we were back at Crossbasket for the drinks reception and photos. Laura was Hollie & Kieron’s wedding coordinator on the day and she was brilliant, ensuring everything ran smoothly. The couple had lawn games and also a harpist for entertainment during this time, and there was such a great atmosphere as everyone enjoyed relaxing in the sun!
The ballroom at Crossbasket Castle weddings is one of the most beautiful rooms to have your wedding meal. It’s absolutely beautiful. Lots of glass and rustic wooden beams, a lovely combination of old and new. Before the meal we had the speeches which were first rate – a good mixture of tears and laughter!
Hollie and Kieron were keen to get some creative wedding photos and so we took some images with smoke bombs, which also featured their Bridal Party. After that we used some sparklers to create some wedding photos that are a little bit different.
Hollie and Kieron’s Crossbasket wedding was a highlight of last year. We can’t wait to be back photographing and filming more weddings there soon!
