We’re a small team of wedding photographers and filmmakers covering Glasgow, Ayrshire and across Scotland.
Glasgow has been home to a huge part of our work over the years. Our team is based across Glasgow, Ayrshire and St Andrews, and we’ve photographed well over a hundred weddings across Glasgow and the west of Scotland, from city-centre celebrations and Glasgow University weddings to country houses and castles outside the city.
Our approach is relaxed and largely documentary. We want you to spend your wedding with your friends and family, not disappear with a photographer for half the afternoon.
We’ll capture most of the day naturally as it happens, give you direction when you need it, and find a little time to make a handful of brilliant portraits without turning your wedding into a photoshoot.
We’ve been photographing weddings in and around Glasgow for years, so there’s a pretty good chance we’ve worked at your venue, or at least somewhere similar to what you’re planning.
We’ve photographed everything from city weddings at Òran Mór, Cottiers, Glasgow University, House for an Art Lover, and The Engine Works, to celebrations outside the city at Crossbasket Castle, Sherbrooke Castle, Dalmeny Park and Gleddoch.
Further into Ayrshire, our weddings regularly take us to venues including Brig o’ Doon, Lochgreen, Enterkine, Seamill Hydro, Lochside House Hotel and Turnberry.
That variety is one of the things we love about working in the west of Scotland. No two weddings need to look the same.
Glasgow city weddings
Glasgow is brilliant for wedding photography because you don’t need to escape the city to find interesting photographs.
The architecture, streets, university, parks and even the weather can all become part of it.
And we don’t arrive with a fixed list of locations that every couple has to visit. Where we go depends on your venue, timings, light and what the day is actually doing.
Sometimes ten minutes outside the venue is all we need.
Some of our favourite Glasgow & west of Scotland wedding venues
Crossbasket Castle
Just outside Glasgow, Crossbasket Castle is one of the venues we know particularly well. It gives you the feel of a country-house wedding while still being close to the city, with plenty of options for photographs without travelling anywhere else.
Òran Mór & Glasgow’s West End
Òran Mór is about as unmistakably Glasgow as a wedding venue gets. You’ve got a completely distinctive ceremony and reception space, then the West End outside if we want a different look for a few portraits.
Glasgow University
Glasgow University gives us one of the most distinctive backdrops in the city, but the photographs don’t all need to be grand architectural portraits. The cloisters, courtyards and surrounding West End give us plenty of options while keeping everything close to the wedding.
Ayrshire Weddings
Part of our team is based in Ayrshire, so we also photograph weddings throughout the west coast, including Brig o’ Doon, Lochgreen House, Enterkine, Seamill Hydro, Lochside House Hotel and Turnberry.
If your venue isn’t listed here, that doesn’t mean we haven’t photographed it. We’ve been doing this for quite a while!
Natural Photographs of Real People
You don’t need to be good at having your photograph taken.
Most people aren’t!
For the majority of the wedding we’re looking for the things that happen without any direction from us: reactions during the ceremony, friends laughing, grandparents watching from the edge of the room, chaos on the dancefloor.
When it’s time for photographs of the two of you, we’ll give you all the direction you need.
Just enough so it doesn’t feel awkward, make some photographs we’re proud of, and then leave you alone to enjoy your wedding.
Wedding photography + videography in Glasgow
Photography, film — or both
As well as wedding photography, our team provides wedding filmmaking throughout Glasgow and the west of Scotland.
Booking photography and film together means everyone behind the cameras is working as one team. We’re not competing for the same moments, repeating shots or dragging you through two separate portrait sessions.
The photographers and filmmakers work to the same relaxed approach, and all of the photography and films are brought together through the same creative team.
You can book photography, film, or combined photography + film coverage.
Who will photograph our wedding?
AWP Photo + Film is a small team rather than one photographer covering dozens of weddings alone.
Andi leads the creative side of the business and our photography and films share the same approach and editing style. Our photographers, Daniel, Heather & George, are experienced members of the team and have taken all the photos you see on our website.
It also means we have photographers based in the west of Scotland as well as St Andrews, rather than travelling the entire team across the country for every wedding.
How much does a Glasgow wedding photographer cost?
Our collections depend on the coverage you need and whether you’re looking for photography, film or both. Get in touch with your date and venue and we’ll send over the current options.
Do you have photographers based in Glasgow?
Yes. Members of our team are based in Glasgow and Ayrshire, while Andi is based in St Andrews. We photograph weddings throughout Scotland.
Can we book photography and videography together?
Absolutely. You can book photography, film or combined coverage from our team.
Have you photographed at our venue before?
Quite possibly. We’ve photographed well over a hundred weddings across Glasgow, Ayrshire and the west of Scotland over the years.
But having photographed a venue before isn’t essential. Light, weather and timings change from wedding to wedding anyway, so we always approach the day in front of us rather than reproducing somebody else’s photographs.
We hate posing. Is that a problem?
Not at all. That’s probably the thing couples tell us most often!
Most of the day is photographed naturally. When we do portraits, we’ll give you enough direction to make it easy without turning you into models for the afternoon.
Planning a wedding in Glasgow?
Tell us your date, venue and a little about what you’re planning and we’ll send over availability and the relevant photography and film options.
