Sarah & Mark’s The Waterside wedding was a very special day indeed. I was providing the wedding videography as well as the photography, and it was a priviledge to be a part of it all. The Waterside was the perfect venue for their day, which was a real celebration of their family and friends, as well as their love for one another.

I genuinely love photographing The Waterside weddings. It’s location on the beach is hard to beat as the views out towards Arran are beautiful. We often get amazing sunsets there which is always a great end to the day. The ceremony room is lovely and light as is the Bridal Prep space upstairs. Us photographers love our natural light! Although we started out day at The Waterside with Bridal Prep, the ceremony was actually held at Portencross Castle. This was where Mark had proposed to Sarah and so was the ideal location for their wedding ceremony. Afterwards, the rain held off just long enough for us to capture a large group photo of everyone. We then took some photos of Sarah, Mark and their family whilst the guests went to The Waterside to start the Drinks Reception.

Just before the Speeches started, our Bridal Party went down to the beach with Sarah & Mark to let off some rainbow-coloured flares. This symbolised the miscarriage that Sarah & Mark had suffered earlier in the year and was a really important part of the day for them. It truly was an honour to capture this in the photos and the video.

The highlight of the Evening Reception was a surprise appearance from Clanedonia, an amazing bagpipe and drum group. Great music and some hilarious audience participation!
